Lahore Biennale 01 Reader

Dr. Dadi has curated and edited the Lahore Biennale 01 Reader, a compilation of scholarly essays that weaves together cultural politics and the art scene of the entire global South. The book draws upon a series of conferences from 2018. In March of that year, the American Institute of Pakistan Studies sponsored several scholars to travel to Lahore, Pakistan to host a series of workshops as part of the inaugural Lahore Biennale; a two-week, community-centered initiative that sought to foster Lahore’s rich art and culture scene. Dr. Iftikhar Dadi, AIPS Vice-President, along with three other US scholars hosted a three-part workshop series that helped address the gaps in the Pakistani art scene the need for further development of artistic communities and practitioners. The scholars also hosted or directly participated in 12 lectures and outreach events that spanned a variety of topics ranging from the interplay of art and cross-border conflict to the role of urban architecture across the South Asia region.

The Lahore Biennale 01 Reader was recently published by Skira Publishing and is available for purchase now: https://www.skira.net/en/books/lahore-biennale-01.
